New Gardeners Program

Grow Organic Vegetables for Free!

Each year Plant-Grow-Share provides families in Central Neighborhood with all of the materials to grow their own food:

  • Vegetable Raised Beds

  • Fertile Soil

  • Plants and Seeds

  • Gardening Classes

  • 1-on-1 Consultation

  • A Community of Gardeners

The program lasts from April through October. Applications are due in April. Central Neighborhood residents are preferred, but anyone is encouraged to apply!

How to be one of next years gardeners:

  • Complete application form

  • Attend 6 gardening classes

  • Volunteer 1 time at the market

  • Share produce with free market (Optional)

Workshop and class topics include:

  • Indoor Seed Starting

  • Raised Bed building

  • Transplanting

  • Soil Fertility and Health

  • Pest and Weed Identification

  • Harvest and Food Preservation

  • Putting the Garden to Bed
